The gang at Papamoa Library tween book group

Papamoa Library is the best!

Last week I had the best time at the Papamoa library tween book group. What a great bunch of kids and fantastic librarians. They invited me to come and talk to them about writing and books. I talked a little about Brave’s Journey and A Mer-tale and we discussed what sort of books they liked to read. I think they knew more than me about a number of those books! I was very pleased to see that both my books are available in Papamoa library and Tauranga library.

Plus, we talked about writing novels, short stories and poetry. There were quite a few writers in the group and even one writer/illustrator. They impressed me with their intelligent questions and the way they joined in the world building exercise at the end. A few people spoke up and shared their created worlds and then, when we put them into pairs, shared the experience one on one. Thanks for inviting me! Thanks for the biscuits!
